Mr. Sheuneni Kurasha
Mr. Sheuneni Kurasha is SADC PF's Democracy and Governance Officer. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Democracy and Governance issues across the SADC region. His areas of interest and expertise include parliamentary democracy, particularly legislative strengthening, parliamentary budget oversight and public finance management and elections among others. His main role at SADC PF, as well as coordinating election observation missions, include planning, organising, and providing substantive servicing to the Standing Committee on Democractisation, Governance and Gender Equality. Previously he served as the Executive Assistant to the Secretary General.
Mr. Kurasha has an in-depth knowledge on parliamentary issues at national and regional level, having worked as Assistant Clerk of Parliament in charge of Committees of Parliament and House Procedures for Zimbabwe and Sessional Procedural Analyst for the Pan African Parliament. Other work experience includes working as Political Editor for a lading weekly newspaper in Zimbabwe, Deputy Director in the Department of Public Affairs for the Government of Zimbabwe and Senior Policy Researcher at the Central Bank.
Mr. Kurasha holds a BA Honours degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Communication. He is currently studying for a Masters in Leadership and Change Management with the University of Leeds and the Polytechnic of Namibia.
